小肥是在投資銀行工作的, 對自己的工作都有自豪感. 可是現在又如何呢? 會不會有過街老鼠的感覺? Come on! 出來行.... 遲早要還!

小肥的公司是比較有實力.... 還可以有工開, 有糧出. 小肥還在準備公司來年的 Annual Budget. Senior Management 達下的 Business Assumptions 是有人工加, 有職升.

對於在雷曼工作的同業..... 只好說聲加油. 有實力者一定可以捱過的!

星期一晚知道AIG 美國有危機, 對於小肥自己持有的 AIA 保單 (Life, investment links and general insurance) 當然有時擔心, 所以立即 Send 封 Email 去保監了解...

星期二... 當日已經謠言不絕. 當天小肥立即 Call 自己的 Agent 去理解一下..... Seperate legal entity...... (AIG) US fail does not affect the operation of subsidiary company (AIA HK and AIA (B)). The fund hold by AIA and AIA(B) are under custody, it should be safe.

今日收到保監回覆如下:

Dear MR. XXX

We refer to your email of 16 September 2008, the contents of which have
been noted.

American International Assurance Company (Bermuda) Limited ("AIA(B)") and
American International Assurance Company, Limited ("AIA") are insurance
companies which are authorized to carry on both long term and general
insurance businesses in Hong Kong.  Notwithstanding that AIA(B) and AIA
are wholly owned subsidiary of American International Group, Inc. ("AIG"),
they are separate legal entities and their business as well as operations are
separated from those of AIG.

According to the Insurance Companies Ordinance ("the Ordinance"),
insurance companies carrying on long term business are required to
maintain separate funds for long term business of which the amount of
assets should be sufficient to meet the corresponding liabilities and
a solvency margin as required under the Ordinance.

Regarding the impact of AIG's liquidity problem on AIA(B) and AIA,
we shall continue to monitor the position and liaise with the senior
management of AIA(B) and AIA closely for assessing the impact of the
incident on AIA(B) and AIA.
